4 Reasons to Hire a Woman-Owned Event Management Company
Our team at B Line Events is made up of creative, talented women – starting with our founder Birgess Angelus. Burgess loves sparking joy through events.
The B Line team enjoys witnessing the connections and opportunities that arise when people get together and are honored to be the (woman-owned) event management company that makes it happen.
Hiring a woman-owned company supports women’s roles in business and leadership, and makes you a supportive partner fostering diversity in the workplace.
Here are four reasons to hire a woman-owned event management company:
Women are badass – and work hard to prove it!
In a recent interview, Birgess spoke about her journey to founding B Line Events and spoke about navigating the business world as a savvy, ambitious woman.
“A lot of my struggle has been about embracing myself for who I am,” Birgess said. “It showed up going into client meetings. If the buyer was a boardroom of dudes, I had to think about trying not to be intimidating or off-putting because I was ambitious, confident, and quick. My mom called me a powerhouse once,in a negative way,” she said. “Women typically are told, consciously or subconsciously, to not live out loud. I was afraid of coming off too strong.”
Despite these challenges, Birgess built B Line Events from the ground up. It now employs a team of all women, with an average employee tenure of 9+ years.
You value diversity in the workplace, and you want to prioritize it.
Hiring a women-owned company is a great way to show your company values workplace diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). These values are a way to ensure that people from all different backgrounds can thrive and share their talents in the workplace.
When you work with a woman-owned event management company, you’re taking actions that uplift a talented group of women.
When you promote diversity, your prospective clients and partners take note. They see you working with a women-led team, and they see a peer eager to collaborate with the best in their respective fields. They know you’re seeking out diverse partners to assemble an A-list team.
Because diversity leads to innovation.
According to a recent Harvard study, workplace diversity helps drive market growth and unlock innovation. Companies with diverse workforces are 45% likelier to see their market shares grow in a given year and 70% likelier to tap new markets.
Supporting women-owned businesses is good for the economy.
Women-owned businesses contribute $2.7 trillion in annual revenue to the U.S. economy and employ over 12 million people. They do this often with smaller teams and despite continued societal barriers.
As barriers come down and female-powered businesses drive more and more innovation, it’s an exciting time to work with them and be part of the growth.
Ready to plan your next corporate event?
There are many good reasons to hire a woman-owned company for your corporate events. Ultimately, the right planning partner is the one who understands the power of relationships for innovation, and how a great event brings the right people together to spark those connections.
